World Chambers of Entrepreneurship for Economic Development (WenCHAM)

Entrepreneurship is increasingly global, yet many entrepreneurs still build their companies in isolation, with limited access to trusted international networks, experienced peers, and platforms that can support their expansion beyond local ecosystems.

To address this gap, WenCHAM – World Chambers of Entrepreneurship for Economic Development was established as a global platform dedicated to strengthening entrepreneurship ecosystems and connecting capable entrepreneurs across borders. More than an organisation, WenCHAM is a global movement designed to empower founders, foster collaboration, and support entrepreneurship diplomacy that enables access to new markets, partnerships, and opportunities.

Through its national chambers and international community, WenCHAM aims to cultivate qualified entrepreneurs, facilitate cross-border cooperation, and contribute to sustainable economic development. WenCHAM operates under the umbrella of the World Business Angels Investment Forum (WBAF), an affiliated partner of the G20 Global Partnership for Financial Inclusion (GPFI), reinforcing its commitment to advancing entrepreneurship, financial inclusion, and global economic progress.

In this context, it is my great pleasure to invite you to apply for the role of Founding President of the WenCHAM National Chapter in [Country].

The Founding President will play a pivotal leadership role in establishing and shaping the national chamber, including:

  • Building a strong community of entrepreneurs and ecosystem leaders
  • Representing the national entrepreneurship ecosystem within the global WenCHAM network
  • Promoting entrepreneurship diplomacy and international collaboration
  • Supporting initiatives that enhance investment readiness, ethical governance, and sustainable growth
  • Facilitating connections between entrepreneurs, investors, and institutions at both national and international levels
As Founding President, you will become part of a distinguished global leadership network working together to strengthen entrepreneurship ecosystems and contribute to inclusive economic development worldwide.

If you are interested in taking on this pioneering role, we kindly invite you to submit your application by completing the WenCHAM National Chapter Founding President Application Form.

We would be honoured to work together with visionary leaders such as yourself to advance the global entrepreneurship movement and build stronger bridges between entrepreneurial communities around the world.

With kind regards,

Kevin Hin
Director General, World Chambers of Entrepreneurship for Economic Development (WenCHAM)

A Global Initiative of the World Business Angels Investment Forum (WBAF)
An affiliated partner of the G20 Global Partnership for Financial Inclusion (GPFI)

The World Chamber of Entrepreneurs for Economic Development (WenCHAM) is a global initiative powered by the World Business Angels Investment Forum (WBAF), an affiliated partner of the G20 Global Partnership for Financial Inclusion (GPFI), that strengthens entrepreneurs through three pillars:

  • Developing qualified entrepreneurs
  • Building international entrepreneurial networks
  • Advancing entrepreneurial diplomacy
Local WenCHAM chapters bring entrepreneurs together while connecting them to global opportunities, investors, and institutions.

Candidates begin as Founding Partners during a short initiation period, delineated by a memorandum of understanding (MOU).

If they successfully recruit 20 paid members within 6 weeks, as part of a global cohort, they are formally appointed Founding President of WenCHAM in their country or region and sign an annual agreement.

This process ensures that WenCHAM leaders are builders with real networks, not just title holders.

During the initiation phase, Founding Partners must:

  • Mobilise their network to recruit 20 paid members
  • Help establish the first WenCHAM community locally
  • Launch or prepare at least one entrepreneurial activity or initiative

This phase demonstrates the candidate’s ability to activate their network and lead the initiative.

No.

During the trial period:

  • The title Founding President cannot be used publicly, you are referred to as Founding Partner
  • All communication must follow WenCHAM guidelines

The title is granted only after the membership target is achieved.

WenCHAM is a lean, volunteer-led organisation, but it requires active engagement.

Founding Presidents typically:

  • Mobilise their network to recruit entrepreneurs
  • Organise a few meaningful activities each year
  • Participate in global WenCHAM initiatives and exchanges

Expect to dedicate a few hours per week, especially during the launch phase.

The role begins as a voluntary leadership position.

The annual WenCHAM membership fee is €100. Once the chamber has reached 20 members, a portion of this fee is allocated to the national chamber and may be used for:

  • modest remuneration for the Founding President
  • operational or project costs

This allows chambers to operate lean but sustainable initiatives.

WenCHAM is looking for individuals who:

  • Have entrepreneurial or business experience
  • Possess strong local networks
  • Want to strengthen their country’s entrepreneurial ecosystem
  • Have the energy and time to build a community

This role is designed for people who enjoy building networks and creating impact.

Once the chamber is established, the Founding President continues building the national community.

Typical expectations include:

  • Growing membership over time (often 100+ members within the first year)
  • Organising entrepreneurial projects aligned with WenCHAM’s mission
  • Connecting the local ecosystem with the global WenCHAM network

Successful chambers become part of a global entrepreneurial movement spanning multiple countries.

WenCHAM Founding Presidents are builders — individuals who mobilise entrepreneurs, connect ecosystems, and help shape the future of entrepreneurship globally.

Once you have filled in this form, it will be reviewed by the WenCHAM leadership and if you profile fits the requirements, you will be invited for a short Zoom call where further details will be discussed.
